Scope and limits
About & methodology
One curated snapshot of the stablecoin economy, and the rules it is built by.
What Stablescape is
The map
A curated database of the companies building stablecoin infrastructure: payment rails, on/off ramps, issuance, custody, compliance, and the emerging agent economy. Every record is classified by category, sub-sector, geography, and stage, and every chart on this site opens the companies beneath it.
The method
Companies enter through systematic sourcing and public submissions. The Verda team reviews and classifies each record, and coverage limits are disclosed rather than hidden.
The reason
Verda Ventures invests in stablecoin infrastructure. Mapping the entire field is how we see it clearly, and publishing the map is how the field finds us. If you’re building here, we want to know about you. Get on the map →
Canonical fields
Name, domain, category, subcategory, region, country, stage, and founding year where provided.
Missingness
- Country1,189 not disclosed or Unspecified
- Region1,066 not disclosed or Unspecified
- Stage443 not provided
- Subcategory3 not provided
- Founding year836 not provided
Stage normalization
Display grouping maps Pre-Seed to Pre-seed and VENTURE_UNKNOWN to Unknown, and retains Series B+ as a distinct label. Canonical record values are never overwritten.
Venture-staged. Wherever this site states a stage share, the denominator is the venture-staged set: records with a disclosed funding-round stage (Pre-seed, Seed, Series A, Series B+, Public). Bootstrapped companies and records with no disclosed round sit outside that denominator. The maturity view and the stage coverage figure use the same set, so every stage percentage on the site answers the same question.
Interpretation rules
Signals and rankings are current-snapshot record counts. They do not claim live change, growth, funding, quality, verification, regulation, or investment merit.
Founding year
Founding year remains filterable and feeds the formation, growth, and recent-formation views, always with a directional caveat: recent-year values mix disclosed years with ingest-date proxies. Cohort-level editorial claims exclude the 2026 cohort because it is unusually large and concentrated: 1,105 records, 33.8% Agentic Payments, 73.1% Pre-seed, 20% United States, and 37.9% country missing. No record-level provenance is available to validate whether this reflects source enrichment, assignment, or formation.
Scope and limits
Category definitions are editorial taxonomy labels. Country maps exclude records without a disclosed country. Region follows the disclosed country using conventional geography. Companies registered in offshore financial centers are assigned their operating region by Verda review, using verified capability evidence (licenses, rails, corridors) where it exists. Global/Distributed marks the residual with no identifiable primary market: 109 records carry it in this snapshot. Emerging-market figures classify at country level: a company counts as EM when its disclosed HQ country is not an IMF advanced economy, and by operating region (LatAm, Africa, or MENA) when no usable HQ country exists. Submissions, corrections, and claims go through on-site forms and are reviewed before the dataset changes. Claims are verified through the company email domain or Google sign-in. Secondary categories may be company-submitted or classified from public sources, as labelled on the profile, and are excluded from all counts.
Methodology changelog
August 2026. Two definition changes, applied together in one snapshot. First, emerging-market classification moved from region level (which counted every APAC company, including Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Australia, as EM) to country level using the IMF advanced-economies list. Second, offshore registrations (Cayman Islands, Bermuda, BVI, and similar) stopped inheriting a conventional-geography region, which had assigned globally distributed companies to LatAm and North America. In the reassignment pass, 17 records moved from Global/Distributed to an operating region verified by capability evidence (North America +5, Europe +6, LatAm +2, APAC +4), records that had inherited a region from an offshore registration were reset, and every remaining Global/Distributed record now carries recorded provenance. EM shares and regional counts published before this change are not comparable with figures after it.
Disclosure
Submit a company or correction. Use the Submit a company form, or the Suggest a correction button on any record. A person reviews every submission before the dataset changes.
Claim your profile. If your company is on the map, open its record and use Claim this profile. Claims are verified through your company email domain or Google sign-in, and corrections from claimed profiles are reviewed first. Claimed companies can list up to four secondary categories, shown on the profile and matched in database filters as self-reported, and never counted in statistics.
Methodology. Categorization combines third-party enrichment, automated classification against a public corpus, and manual review. Founding year is the company's disclosed year where available, otherwise a directional proxy from the date the company was first ingested into our underlying data source. Treat newer categories (Agentic Payments, RWA tokenization) as directional rather than exact.
